Sensations
Death was heard and felt today. The seamless ride broken by thumping, jumping, rumbling - A man leapt in front of the train. Looks of worriment soured, Annoyance grew to impatience.
Feet tapping, hands drumming, mouths stewing, "He's done killed himself and now he's going to Hell!" Strangers bonded over their lower emotions.
Finally out the train, one pointed to the front, smirking: "He left his skin behind, come see!" The strangers followed suit, inspecting the train for any human remains. A mother took her children by the hand to watch. Backslapping, finger-snapping, joking and jiving, Oohing and Aahing, lights flashing, police-talking, shrugging and sighing.
Lights, flashing.
…All but one quickly dismissed it -
the overwhelming pain of life,
that which at times has seized us all.
Only one quietly shook her head and
acknowledged what happened today:
A man jumped in front of a train because it was all too much to bear.
