This illustration tells the story of two misfits that care for one another to facilitate their own personal need for safety and companionship. The small bird watches over the sleeping woman, and in return she serves as his nest. This tangled and complicated relationship is mirrored aesthetically with the tangled branches and hair of the sleeping woman.
