Wu Zetian was the only female emperor of China. During that time, life as a Chinese female wasn’t easy; women were living under extreme oppression. However, Wu Zetian was able to make her way to becoming the empress of a kingdom for more than twenty years. As controversial as the Empress was, I find her life very fascinating. Creating my own version of an influential female figure from my own culture is the best way to start off a new year.
